Is the fight against terror (extremist) 'spells end of privacy'?

Ok my tinfoil hat might be a little tight today but bare with me as to the possibility of domestic surveillance for a second. Technology is ever growing in spectrum and perhaps maybe one day wall may become only a symbolic gesture.
