Problem with my iPod. Help?

A while ago, my friend burned me a CD with the song "Circle of Life" on it (judge not). I put the cd on my iTunes and synced. When I went to the "artists" section on the iPod, and "Carmen Twilie & Lebo M." was nowhere to be found. I then bought the song on iTunes, because I figured that my friend must have illegally downloaded it and it was corrupt, but I ran into the same problem.
